Ho there, ArcFans!

I bring great and happy tidings - all of the ArcWorlde Compendium Pledges have been shipped.

Physical

If you've purchased the physical book, or are expecting any miniatures, all of the parcels have been sent. If you'd like your tracking number please email us at [email protected] .

Digital

All of the Digital versions of the Compendium were sent a few weeks ago to all of the backers that got them. These emails would have been sent via BackerKit, to the email that your Kickstarter account is connected to. If you are struggling to find your email, please email us at [email protected] .

Thank you all so much for backing the project, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Don't forget to join us where the ArcWorlde Community hangs out, on our Discord server ( https://discord.gg/3rpTJ9K8fa ) and the ArcWorlde Facebook group ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/arcworldeofficial ). If you have any questions about ArcWorlde, it's the perfect place to post and chat.

Have a great day, everyone!

Exposed binding? Oooh la-la
over 1 year ago – Fri, Nov 01, 2024 at 08:53:39 AM

Ho there, ArcFans!

Hope you're all well. Shipment has commenced in earnest, and our dedicated packing team (my mum and dad) are steadily working their way through all of your orders. We've roughly got half of the campaign out of the door, and are making great progress getting the rest of the parcel to all of you all around the world.

One of the questions we've been having from the backers has been about the binding on the book:

This is a technique called naked or exposed binding. Our designer Craig from Dizzy Ink and I decided it would be a super cool visual style for the book, as well as making it a lot easier to fold flat.

Naked binding is particularly used for high-end art books, and we thought it would be perfect for the Compendium, too.

Discord

I can't wait to hear what you think about the book! The most active place for the ArcWorlde community nowadays is Discord, so be sure to pop us all a post when yours' arrives safe and sound. You can join here: https://discord.com/invite/3rpTJ9K8fa

Cheers, and have a great weekend!

The ArcWorlde Compendium is here. Time to get them shipped!
over 1 year ago – Mon, Oct 07, 2024 at 07:19:01 AM

Ho there, ArcFans!

Hope you're all well. Apologies for the lack of updates on here over the last few months - but I come bearing very exciting news indeed.

The ArcWorlde Compendium has been printed! Whilst I've been silent I've been hard at work writing, illustrating, liaising with our wonderful designer Craig as he laid out the book and oversaw the printing, and now 500 books are sat safe and sound at Warp HQ ready to be shipped.

I am delighted to announce that we are on schedule to get started shipping your pledges to you this month. The Kickstarter backers who attended the ArcWorlde Weekender 2024 (a yearly event I host for ArcFans in Nottingham) picked up their copies last weekend, and it's been amazing to see them so happy with their books.

Stay tuned for more updates, and I hope you love them when they arrive.

Many thanks,

- Alex

The final stretch!
almost 2 years ago – Mon, Apr 15, 2024 at 03:51:27 AM

Ho there, ArcFans!

Hope you're all well. Just thought I'd give you a quick update on the progress of the project, as we inch towards delivery!

The text is done!

I'm pleased to let you know that all of the text for the ArcWorlde Compendium is written, and is currently with Ellie our editor and proofreader. It's been a wonderful experience finally getting down all of the lore about ArcWorlde into word form, and even though it's taken me bloody ages I really hope you like it.

The art continues!

As the writing is complete, I've been able to focus once again on the artwork. With over 400 illustrations needed to be done, it was truly a mammoth task. Nevertheless, I've been chipping away at it and I'm really happy with the content I'm making.

Here's some more sneak peeks:

Last Chance to edit your pledge!

With the delivery date drawing closer, I'd like to give you one last chance to edit your pledge on BackerKit. In 48 hours the project will be locked, and the accounts charged, so be sure to make sure you've added everything you'd like.

Delivery update

I'd like to give an updated delivery date for the project of October 2024. My graphic designer has given me a deadline of June to get everything ready, and I'm confident I will hit it, but I also underestimated the length of time a book of the size/complexity of the Compendium would take to lay out and print. Even though the content will be complete, it will take a decent amount of time to manufacture all the books we need for the project.

My updated goal is to make sure that the Compendium will be printed in time for the ArcWorlde Weekender in early October, and those who can't make it will have theirs' shipped the week afterwards. I am extremely sorry for the delay, and I hope that the wait will be worth it.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Many thanks,

- Alex

More Illustrations for the Compendium!

Ho there, ArcFans!

Hope you're all well. Just thought I'd give you a quick update on the progress of the Compendium! As there is lots that has happened in the last few weeks...

Sub-Factions

As part of each Faction's section in the book, I will be giving some example sub-factions to inspire you when theming and painting your Warbands. Although most of the work has been writing little descriptions for each of the 144 sub-Factions, this isn't very visually interesting. So, here are some of the drawings I've done!

The sub-Factions for the Undead Raiders

Each Faction can ally with two other Factions, and this is reflected in some of these sub-groups. The Undead can all team up, so the Undead Raiders, the Vampires and the Ancient Dead can be combined into a single Warband. Can you tell which of these are allied with the Vampires and the Ancient Dead?

Other Art

As well as the Factions, I've been working hard writing and drawing for the Bestiary section of the book! I'll be hoping to cover all of the monsters that I've made (so far) for ArcWorlde, and here's a sneak peek of some old favourites...

That's your lot for now, stay tuned for even more updates in the following months!

Cheers,

- Alex
